They saw the beauty and the grace of God upon Him.  So they protected the baby.   Also, they could respond in faith because they did not consider the instructions of Pharaoh. One thing you must know is that your mind cannot be empty. It is either you are considering the word that is true about you in Christ or the words of Pharaoh. Herod made a decree to kill newly born babies during the time of Jesus. But the angel told Joseph and Mary to take Jesus to Egypt so that Jesus would be safe from Herod’s hand. Ayoola Fakeye  Hebrews 11:23   In Egypt, God's hand was on the children of Israel, being the chosen nation, and as a result, they were multiplying in all forms. Therefore, Pharaoh feels threatened by the people of Israel, and then he made a decree and published an edict; ordering every male child who has just been given birth to be thrown inside the river. This period was when Moses was born. Exodus 2   When Moses was born, the bible tells us that by Faith his parents hid Him. They were hiding the baby, not because they are afraid of the king's edict. Assuming they were afraid of the king’s ordering, they won’t have saved the baby, instead they will be conscious that they are not killed.
