GRACE ABOUNDS BIBLE STUDY

THEME: FAITH LIFE OF CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS (Part 38)
TOPIC: The proving of our Faith 4

Hebrews 11:17

We have said many things actually in our previous article on proving faith. Part of the things discussed is that God tests our faith in such a way that, although He saw challenges and temptation coming on our way, he makes us pass through it because we have already been endowed by God with His life, Spirit, presence, and word. Furthermore, we shared that if we can't stand in faith during difficult challenges and temptation, then faith living cannot be a life. Instead, you will keep struggling and struggling.

The Apostles see temptation and persecution as mediums through which their faith can be strengthened, even though the devil meant it to be evil for them. Challenges are avenues where faith rubs on our experiences, our hearts, and by default we see ourselves operating in Faith and growing in it.

You can further go through the previous three articles on this particular subject for further exposition: article1 article2 article3

God chooses to see us in Christ Jesus, and that's why He gave us the Holy Spirit so that He can always bring our attention to see Jesus. Therefore, the Holy Spirit begins to woo us, influence our choices, and connect us to the right location at the right time just for us to be able to encounter Christ and get acquainted with Him. There is a lot practically the Holy Spirit does to believers, but the primary objective is that He aligns our focus to Christ, so we can be seeing from the perspective through which God is seeing.

I Corinthians 10:13

From the scripture above, the first thing the Bible tells us is that there is no temptation/challenge that you are passing through that is peculiar to you. This is vital to note because the devil will make you feel that you are the only one passing through whatever you are passing through. When this happens, it is easy to find excuses for falling into temptation or challenges. I have heard people say; “well, you can't understand because you are not in my shoe.” They say those statements because the devil makes them feel that what they are passing through is out of this world – something no one can overcome. So, instead of getting up in faith and resisting the devil and his suggestion, they swallow all the negativity, and many times they turn to self-pity.

Friends, don't focus on yourself or your challenges. Instead, focus on Christ Jesus. I am very sure the Holy Spirit is bringing His picture to you, of how Christ impacts marriages, relationships, businesses, health, and life entirely. Receive Jesus today and what He's done, and you will always smile at the storm.
