Faith Life 42 (Faith brings clarity to a vision)
GRACE ABOUNDS BIBLE STUDY
The problem of many people is not a lack of vision or purpose. But most times, the concern is that many people lack clarity in the vision. This happens when God has given us vision, and we take it from Him and start using self-effort to get things done. So, we will be seeing from the scriptures how we can have clarity of vision through faith.
Hebrews 11:20, Genesis 27
The Bible tells us that it was in faith Isaac blessed His sons. What was about his Faith? His faith must have been in God and what He has promised him and his father Abraham, that in their seed shall the entire world be blessed. So, he knew he is going to die soon, and he needed to pass this vision and blessing to one of his sons.
Assuming Isaac didn't have faith in the word God has spoken to Him and his father, and he didn't believe in the authenticity of God's word and promise, he won't have bothered and intentionally passed the blessing on to the next generation. Isaac believed the promises given to Abraham in Genesis 12 and reiterated to him in Genesis 26, and then he was ready to pronounce it on his child in Genesis 27. The blessing is such that from his line shall come a Kingdom of innumerable offspring, in whom all the nations of the earth would be blessed. That’s the promise, not just of national Israel, but of Christ and his Kingdom. We know that the true sons of Abraham, sons of Isaac, Seed of Promise, is Jesus, and the true Israel includes all who believe in Christ Jesus.
As we have considered before that their Vision is not just taking possession, or acquiring some territory. Nope! The broad view of the vision was concerning God’s son Jesus, and those that will be included in His kingdom by faith.
From all of these, we can see how Isaac valued God’s word spoken to both His father and Himself. Brethren! How much do you value the word of God? We will never understand purpose and vision if we are not men that appreciate God's word. We will never pronounce God's intention and walk by it when we don't take the word of God as our own. The word says he will never leave you nor forsake you! Isn't it?
Isaac took God's word with so much great seriousness. All these patriarchs took God's word very seriously. It doesn't matter to them whatever their circumstances are, similar to when Abraham has not gotten a child, yet he agreed with God’s word. When He got the Child and the word came to Him to sacrifice Him, He did agree as well. Check out for a man of faith; they are men who receive the word as their own. They are not people that just have a mental assent of God’s word or those that feel it can't work in their generation.
My experience
I remembered having some conversations with my colleagues, and they said, “when our fathers in faith have passed on, there can't be sincere faith again.” They also said, “what will be left on the pulpit is junk, and materialism and the likes.” I stood up and reminded them of God’s word where Jesus said He shall one preserve His church. He said in his word, “He will build His church on the foundation of His death and resurrection, and the gate of hell will not prevail over it.” I told them that, “the church will keep getting renewed day by day, and she shall continue to feel the impact of the resurrection day by day. I believe Armies are arising!”
Brethren, that's just an instance of how we can think traditional. It will affect our vision. Let us think in the light of what is true about us. For instance, my colleague didn’t have a correct vision of God progressing his church. They think the church is for our fathers in faith to sustain. Nope! The church of Christ is Christ's. Hallelujah. Christ, Himself will take care of His Church, and you are his church; therefore, He will take care of you. You won't fall, and you won't fail in Jesus’s name. Just let your Faith raise to Him and start believing that what is true about Him is true about you.
You will never see the correct vision and picture of yourself if you don't start looking into God's revelation for us.
