Faith Life 58 (The Faith Approach)

Ayoola Fakeye   THE FAITH APPROACH    “ By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. ”   Hebrews   11:29 ‬  ‬‬ The children have seen the great deliverance from the Judgement, and it was expedient that they continue their approach in faith, h aving seen the victory of the cross that destroyed sin, principalities, and powers as they put their faith in the Lamb's blood, It was reasonable that they continue by faith.   Beloved, if we started our Christian walk based on faith, it is expedient we continue by Faith. The blood of Jesus did not just cleanse us from sin, but this same blood installed God's life into us.    We have indeed been delivered spiritually from the influence of the world. Although physically, we are still in the world. Therefore, as a result, the world is breathing on us one way or the other. The consequences of the world's unbelief and malady are reaching ...

Faith Life 57 (Faith that rests on God's estimate)

Ayoola Fakeye FAITH THAT RESTS ON GOD'S ESTIMATE  “ By faith, he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. ”  Hebrews  11:28 ‬ ‭‬‬   The word  ‘ kept ’  from the scripture above is rendered in the Greek lexicon as  ‘ Hath kept. ’  It is a perfect tense verb. The implication of this is that the keeping of the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood was not what Moses considered only for the moment, but it was what He instituted and established.   Another thing to note from the scripture is that the Bible attributes the keeping of the Passover and sprinkling of blood to Moses' Faith, even though it was not only Moses that observed it. This implies that Moses' faith in the paschal lamb inspires the children of Israel to also follow Moses' order.    As a leader, the way you can effectively lead people in the kingdom is by walking in faith. Have you been given responsibi...

Faith Life 56 (The significance of God's presence 3)

Ayoola Fakeye THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GOD'S PRESENCE (PART  3) “ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. ”‭  Hebrews 11:27 ‬    In this article, I shall continue to highlight the beautiful life of faith Moses lived. His decision to forsake Egypt was the result of the faith He has in the Covenant Lord. He never allowed the fear of Pharaoh to affect the decision because He realized that God's presence was constantly with Him. God's presence, which was invisible to His physical eyes, was more real than a pharaoh on the throne. That is what it means to realize that God's presence is with you; that you are assured of His presence even in the face of contrary things around you. What can give such assurance is that you know that the blood of Jesus has brought you into an eternal covenant and commitment with God. His responsibility to you is,  “ I will never leave nor forsake you. ”   In the two previ...

Faith life 55 (the significance of God's presence in our lives 2)

Ayoola Fakeye THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GOD'S PRESENCE (PART 2)    “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.”  In the previous article , I have discussed the first point. In this article, I will discuss the second significance of the realization of God's presence; it equips or inspires the soul with patience in the trials of life. Moses requested Pharaoh to let the children of Israel go to inherit their land, but Pharaoh made it hard for Moses. The treatment was frustrating, going back and front until the tenth miracle—the Passover. Standing on God's word will not come as a result of chance because the devil will make it hard for you to rely absolutely on the authority of God’s word, just as Pharaoh made it hard for Moses. If not Moses realized the presence of God was with Him, Pharaoh's attitude is enough to make him doubt God’s word.  If God has given His word, it is because He is intentional about it. H...

Faith life 54 (the significance of God's presence in our lives)

Ayoola Fakeye THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GOD'S PRESENCE   “ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. ”  Hebrews ‬ ‭ 11:27 ‬ ‭ ‬‬ Moses forsook Egypt, not fearing the king ’ s wrath because he endured. How did He resist Pharoh's stubbornness? Because He saw Him who is invisible. That is faith in its actual definition! Faith is the vision that transcends beyond the sense realm and focuses us solely on Christ. Moses could endure because He saw the invisible presence of God.  It is invisible to the natural eyes yet tangible. The presence of God is not a figment of imagination. It is real and tangible! That is the reason Moses could endure the stubbornness of Pharaoh.   From the above scriptures, I have highlighted three significances of realizing God's presence around us.     1. It raises the soul above the fear of man   2. Equip or inspires the soul with patience in the trials of life   3. ...

Faith life 53 (The beauty of God's presence)

Ayoola Fakeye THE BEAUTY OF GOD'S PRESENCE “ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. ”  Hebrews 11:27 ‬ ‬‬ It is only by Faith, that is, absolute confidence and reliance on Christ and what he has done, that can make us savor the presence of God. As a believer, the Lord is always with you. That is his eternal promise! Even when you don't feel it, he is right there with you. Although it will take faith for you to be conscious of it and enjoy it (Hebrews 13:5)   Someone once asked me, “Where is God?” My response was,  “ In him, I move, live and have my being. God is where I am. ”  These are not just sensual statements or motivational statements, but faith statements. A man will only utter those statements if his focus is on Christ.   Looking again at Moses ’  decision, the scripture says,  ‘ He forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king ’ . This is precisely what fait...

Faith Life 52 (The riches in suffering for Christ)

Ayoola Fakeye THE RICHES IN SUFFERING FOR CHRIST “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrews‬ ‭11:24-26 ‬ ‭‬‬  “The pleasure of sin” refers to having might, influence, fame, and wealth in worldly ways. To have any of these may not be bad in themselves, but if it is your main focus and your goal; or if they are what your attention centers upon, then you cannot choose the reproach of Christ. There are far greater riches that will be enjoyed in identifying with Christ in suffering. Wealth outside Christ may give you enjoyment, but it will be short-lived!  Beloved, there is more in Christ Jesus. There is nothing that can be compared to what Christ gives. Just stay in God's course and wait patiently on Him until He work...

Faith Life 51 (Esteeming the reproach of Christ by Faith)

Ayoola Fakeye Esteeming the reproach of Christ by Faith.   “ By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh ’ s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. ”  Hebrews ‬ ‭ 11:24-26 ‬ ‭   Let me ask you a question,  “ which one would you prefer? That your name is engraved upon the stone tomb of Egypt and her history book, or that your name is written in God's Holy book. ”   Apart from Jesus and David, Moses ’  name appears the most in the bible because He yielded in faith to God and God used him powerfully. By God's grace, we have also been  impacted by the wonderful working of God through this man — Moses.   Initially, from a natural standpoint, it doesn't look like Moses was making the right decision. I am sure a lot would hav...

Faith life 50 (Faith of the Fathers)

Ayoola Fakeye Faith of the Fathers “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrews11:24-26‬ ‭‬‬ Moses esteemed the reproach of Christ's greater riches than the treasure in Egypt. The treasures of Egypt are what is referred to as the pleasure of sin in vs. 25. The pleasure of sin there is not in the sense of fornication, or adultery, but just means enjoying the privileges Egypt afforded him.  Apostle Paul also calls this pleasure as weight that besets us ( Hebrews 12:1 ). These are things, opportunities, placed on the way to obstruct us from walking the path of Faith. These are the strategy of the devil which he gives us every day in the form of temptation to play God in our lives; to make decisions, fight and defend ...

Faith Life 49 (Decisions made by Faith)

Ayoola Fakeye DECISIONS MADE BY FAITH   “ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. ” ‭‭ Hebrews ‬ ‭ 11:25-26 ‬ ‬‬   In the previous articles, we have considered Moses ’  refusal. Therefore, we must also consider what He chose.   The fact remains that you can't be on the fence. You will always have to refuse God for the devil, or refuse the devil for God. And the truth is, you can't accept God because you wanted to. Nope! Therefore, to decide for God requires Faith.   “ For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. ”‭  I John 5:4 ‬ ‭   Our faith is the Victory that overcomes the world. When we interpolate this statement with other Scriptures such as Colossians 2:15 ; then I can say our faith is ...
