Faith life 65 (Faith that transforms)

FAITH THAT TRANSFORMS By Ayoola Fakeye (PAF)   “ By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe when she had received the spies with peace. ”  Hebrews 11:31 ‬  Hebrew chapter 11 popularly refers to the faith Chapter, featuring decent and great men of God. Most of their names are what we bear today, such as Abel, Noah, Enoch, Abraham, and men who made their mark in Biblical History. And to my surprise, the last person, the apostle would call out is a harlot. Great! The Apostle chose to speak about this woman to show us that the faith of Christ is available to everyone, irrespective of the past life. So, you need not shy back again because of your background or past life; take the bold step of Faith this woman took. The faith of Christ is available for everyone. To enjoy it does not depend on your past. It depends solely on acknowledging and believing the Saviour, Christ. For Rahab, she was an alien to the commonwealth of Israel and then a ha...

Faith Life 64 (Faith that overcomes obstacle 2)

FAITH THAT OVERCOMES OBSTACLES 2 By Ayoola Fakeye   “ By faith, the walls of Jericho fell after they were encircled for seven days. ”  Hebrews 11:30 ‬   “ Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua:  “ See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. ”  Joshua 6:1-2 ‬    God told the people of Israel that they had already inherited the land. It ’ s already a done deal. That also must be settled in our hearts that our victory is a done deal.   The instructions God gave to the Israelites ( Joshua 6:3-5 )   God told them that the ark should be ahead of them so that everyone followed it. This ark is very symbolic of the Old Testament era. It symbolizes the presence of God.   God also instructed them to round the city once for seven days. Then on the seven days, they should do it seven times. And in all their proceedings, the ...

Faith life 63 (Faith that overcomes Obstacles)

FAITH THAT OVERCOMES OBSTACLES “ By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. ”  Hebrews  11:30 ‬  The scripture records for us that, by Faith, the wall of Jericho fell after encircling the city for seven days. The Jericho wall is a picture of an obstacle to enjoying the inheritance Christ has made available for us on the cross. Jericho was the first city that was conquered by the children of Israel. I see Jericho as a type of system and structure the devil has strategically placed in this world to make us lose faith and courage to live as God's son. Obstacles are real! Some are not your fault. At times, we feel maybe we have not prayed well. That's not always true, though. For instance, I grew up to know myself as an asthmatic patient. I have not even known my left from right when I was battling with this life-threatening sickness. It's not always our fault to see challenges on our way. It is not always our fault that bad lead...

Faith Life 62 (Two-dimensional experience of Faith)

The faith life of Christian believers is what we have been considering Today, we shall be looking at the two-dimensional experience of living by faith  “ By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.”  Hebrews 11: 29 The Israelites’ faith in the covenant Lord can be viewed in two dimensions: The first part is about how Moses and the Children of Israel passed through the Red Sea on dry land. They didn't stress themselves while passing through the Red Sea, but they walked through it comfortably. The second thing that happened was that their enemy, the Egyptians, was utterly consumed in the Red Sea. In both dimensions, they didn’t use their effort to achieve victory.   “ And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.” Exodus 14:19   In the previous article , we saw when God reproved Moses to ...

Faith Life 61 (Faith Approach 4)

FAITH APPROACH 4 (By Ayoola Fakeye) It is essential as Christians to approach life with an assurance that the Lord Jesus has already won the battle. That is the faith approach! And the Holy Spirit has been sent to lead us to the spoils and gather them. However, many believers  still don't follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pride and ego won't make us follow the Holy Spirit. Other times, it is religion and culture that affect our sensitivity.    “ By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. ”   Hebrews   11:29 ‬ ‭   We got this faith approach from the progression of the Children of Israel through the Red Sea. You can check the three-previous article to get a better understanding.   Having already seen the three steps Moses took to build the children of Israel's faith and confidence in the living God, the Lord responded to Him.   Let us check it out in Exodus 14 “ An...

Faith Life 60 (Faith Approach 3)

THE FAITH APPROACH 3 ( Ayoola Fakeye ) The book of Hebrews chapter eleven verse twenty-nine tells us that the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea on dry land because they believed the one that brought them out from Egypt by His mighty hand.   Although, When I studied the account in the book of Exodus chapter fourteen, I discovered that that was not their initial disposition. Initially, they were filled with unbelief and contempt. However, in the previous article, it was discussed how Moses started approaching the situation by faith, which eventually spun the Children of Israel ’ s faith.   The last article also discussed the two approaches Moses took to spin the faith of the children of Israel. You can click here to have a look at what ’ s been discussed.    In this article, I shall be discussing the third approach.   3. See the salvation of the Lord. Moses told the children of Israel to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Beloved, i...

Faith Life 59 (The Faith Approach 2)

Ayoola Fakeye   “ By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. ”  Hebrews 11:29 ‬ ‭     The approach of Moses at the Red Sea is an approach of Faith.   “ And Moses said to the people,  “ Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. ”  Exodus ‬ ‭ 14:13 ‬ ‬‬    In Exodus 14, the children of Israel pressurized Moses. But Moses didn't allow the surrounding circumstances to change his view about God.   This man had not heard anything from God about the situation at the Red Sea, yet when the Children of Israel were cussing Moses, He was so confident, knowing that God wouldn't have brought them that far from Egypt; to die in the Red Sea. In the middle of your dilemma, I want you to know God wouldn't have brought you this fa...

Faith Life 58 (The Faith Approach)

Ayoola Fakeye   THE FAITH APPROACH    “ By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. ”   Hebrews   11:29 ‬  ‬‬ The children have seen the great deliverance from the Judgement, and it was expedient that they continue their approach in faith, h aving seen the victory of the cross that destroyed sin, principalities, and powers as they put their faith in the Lamb's blood, It was reasonable that they continue by faith.   Beloved, if we started our Christian walk based on faith, it is expedient we continue by Faith. The blood of Jesus did not just cleanse us from sin, but this same blood installed God's life into us.    We have indeed been delivered spiritually from the influence of the world. Although physically, we are still in the world. Therefore, as a result, the world is breathing on us one way or the other. The consequences of the world's unbelief and malady are reaching ...

Faith Life 57 (Faith that rests on God's estimate)

Ayoola Fakeye FAITH THAT RESTS ON GOD'S ESTIMATE  “ By faith, he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. ”  Hebrews  11:28 ‬ ‭‬‬   The word  ‘ kept ’  from the scripture above is rendered in the Greek lexicon as  ‘ Hath kept. ’  It is a perfect tense verb. The implication of this is that the keeping of the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood was not what Moses considered only for the moment, but it was what He instituted and established.   Another thing to note from the scripture is that the Bible attributes the keeping of the Passover and sprinkling of blood to Moses' Faith, even though it was not only Moses that observed it. This implies that Moses' faith in the paschal lamb inspires the children of Israel to also follow Moses' order.    As a leader, the way you can effectively lead people in the kingdom is by walking in faith. Have you been given responsibi...
