Faith Life 62 (Two-dimensional experience of Faith)

The faith life of Christian believers is what we have been considering

Today, we shall be looking at the two-dimensional experience of living by faith

“By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.” Hebrews 11: 29

The Israelites’ faith in the covenant Lord can be viewed in two dimensions:

The first part is about how Moses and the Children of Israel passed through the Red Sea on dry land. They didn't stress themselves while passing through the Red Sea, but they walked through it comfortably.

The second thing that happened was that their enemy, the Egyptians, was utterly consumed in the Red Sea. In both dimensions, they didn’t use their effort to achieve victory.

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.” Exodus 14:19

In the previous article, we saw when God reproved Moses to go forward but with a consciousness of the rod in His hand, which is a symbol of the cross of Christ.

The same faith in the cross that gave us victory is the same that overthrew the enemy entirely. When they were about to move while Moses lifted his rod against the sea, the angel of the Lord took a position to shine unto them the glory of God. Likewise, on the cross, the Holy Spirit assumed a posture for us to shine on us God's glory and light. We that were in darkness now can see the light. Glory to the Lamb!

Whenever you put faith in Christ and what He did on the cross, the Holy Spirit will always take a posture for you in every sphere of your life to manifest God’s glory.

“So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus, it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other so that the one did not come near the other all that night.” Exodus 14:20

‬ The same cloud of fire that was the glory and light for the Israelites was a defeat and darkness to the Egyptians. The Cross of Christ also separates us from sin, death, and the devil. Therefore, what has darkness to do with light? Jesus has detached from the influence of the power of darkness. So the impact of the devil cannot reach us again.

Peradventure, the Egyptians may want to throw an arrow or a missile at the camp of the Israelites; how then will they have been able to see the target? That means it is not possible to attack the Israelites at a distance. Today, people pray against dark arrows thrown from the dark world. Beloved, don't you know your position now in Christ? The Bible says we are not of the night (darkness), but we are of the day (light) (1 Thessalonians 5:5). There is already a discrepancy; there is a cloud of glory that has covered us. We are safe and secure because of the cross of Christ! Dear believer in Christ, I want you to start walking in confidence

Salvation entails more than separation from our enemies but also includes that God has judged our enemies.

Eventually, the Egyptians attempted to pass through the Red Sea just like the children of Israel did, but they perish. Likewise — also, the prince of this world has been utterly judged. He has been condemned eternally to death. You are not the condemned ones, but the devil is. God didn't just separate us from our foe but also put an end to him.  Now we can raise our heads in confidence and declare that; ‘there is no condemnation for me now in Christ Jesus.’

You don't have to strive for anything, but believe all that Jesus has done for you. Victory is the automatic result for us, and defeat is the automatic result for the devil and his agent!
