THE VICTOR'S MENTALITY 3 {Introduction to Victor's Mentality}

Today, we will start looking at the introduction to Victor's mentality. Our main reference scripture as we consider this will be Ephesians 6. I trust God that He will enable us to glean from that chapter and that at the end of the series, we will be equipped with the victor's mentality, in Jesus' name. Amen. So, please endeavor not to miss any part of the series.

We are indeed victorious, and nothing can be more true than that—God in Christ has won us the victory. "And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church" Ephesians 1:22 (NIV). And truly we are victorious! Yet, I want you to understand that the defeated enemy does not want you to know about your victory in Christ. He does not want you to be conscious of it. He aims to prevent us from enjoying the victorious life we have in Christ. There is an enemy out there that wants to deceive us so that the effect of God's life will not manifest in us and through us. Therefore, as victorious ones, you need a mindset—a mentality that you must always wear.
There is something the devil is all out to achieve. Firstly, he prevents men from receiving Christ. But then if he has failed in that area in a particular individual, he will re-strategize to see that such a man does not enjoy the goodness of God. That's not me! And I believe that's not you—my readers either, in Jesus' name.

Let me share Ephesians 6 so we can start gleaning.
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." ‭‭Ephesians 6:10-20 (NKJV) Carefully read the above scripture.

I want to provide an overview of these scripture verses: From this scripture, I concluded that there are three important things we must know and be aware of to remain victorious.
1. Your source of power and the kind of power at work in you.
2. The kind of enemy that is trying to oppose you.
3. The armor to put on when the opposition comes.
When we have a correct awareness of these three, then we always stay victorious.

To begin, I would like to emphasize that spiritual battle is not about praying against the enemy or shooting any arrows to some places. The spiritual battle is the battle to stay and remain victorious. For instance, you are not fighting to be free, because you are. But your fight is to remain in this freedom and not to be drawn away from the freedom you have in Christ. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery" –Galatians 5:1 (NIV). The believer's fight is about staying free! It is not that we are fighting for freedom or to be free. Our freedom is a finished work! We have been freed from sin and all its consequences, from the devil and his agents.‬

The Bible tells us how to stay free which is to hold on to what Jesus has done—it says "to stand fast in it and don't get entangled in legalism." This is one of the strategies of the devil to usurp you from your freedom. What that Scripture is saying, in essence, is that to stay victorious, you need to wear the mentality of your victory. Be conscious of it.

"Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses." 1 Timothy 6:12 (NLT). Also in this verse, the Bible tells us what is the good fight of faith: it is to hold tightly to the eternal life to which you have been called. The believer's fight is not about doing something extra apart from what Jesus has done but holding tightly to what Jesus has done. The reason why you have to hold it tightly is that the devil is always propagating agendas, things, and influences that may distract you and make you lose focus of your victory.

The Bible calls the fight the fight of faith because it is a fight to remain in your belief in what Christ has done. Such that you will not allow anything to take the truth of Christ's victory from you, not even your physical experience.

Prayerfully meditate on these things.
