Hebrew 11:8

From our text, we will see the reason God called Abraham; He called him to an inheritance. This is very Important for us to note, because it set a foundation for our faith and disposition towards God, because many people think God called them primarily to use them. No! That's not God's ultimate reason He has called us. Thinking that God's primary purpose for calling us is to serve Him or so that He can use us will give us a perspective of our relationship with God as master - servant relationship.

I am not saying that you won't serve God in the process, but what I am saying is that, this is not the essence of our calling. Service to God is very important, because that's what you do in the course of our journey, so that you won't be idle. Serving God is very important, but I am driving the point that it must not be the basis of our relationship with God, because we will not always be able to serve God as we ought to, so if we make our service as the basis of our calling, then we will always run into condemnation and guilt when we don't serve God appropriately. 

God called Abraham as a Father calls His child to show him what He has made available for Him. It's just like a Father who call his Son to show him what he has laid down as his inheritance. Brothers and sisters, this is the reason God has called us, to receive an inheritance. If we think that the primary call of God on your life is to be an Apostle, a prophet, an evangelism and the likes, then you will be missing out a lot from what God has prepared for you.

Ephesians 1:13-14
The Bible makes us know that, when we've believed in Christ Jesus and what He has done, we are then sealed with the Holy Spirit. We understand that people put their seal on a property to make an awareness that they are the owner of that property. So also, God has shown us and to the whole world that you belong to Christ and that you are in His class by sending us the Holy Spirit. This is our inheritance, that we are in the same class of Christ; such that we could enjoy what He enjoys and share in the same life that He has.  

You are untouchable because you have the seal of God on you. God has sealed us with the Holy Spirit, so that the Holy Spirit can always bring a Consciousness that you belong to Christ. Excuse me, who dares touch the Lord's property? Friends! We have been brought with the precious blood of Jesus and we need to start celebrating that.

The Bible also tell us that the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance. This can be view in different ways. One of it is that, because we have the Holy Spirit, we are guaranteed of our inheritance which we have in Christ Jesus. For example, the Holy Spirit guarantees you that by Jesus' stripes, you are healed. He also guarantee us of our riches in Christ bby reminding us that because of us, Christ became poor on the cross, so that through His poverty, we can be made rich. He always seek to give us a revelation of who we have become in Christ Jesus. 

Another view is that, as we anticipate the manifestation of our full redemption, we can enjoy the foretaste and first fruit of our inheritance. We can get closer and closer in our minds, thoughts, actions and dispositions to the life we have received in Christ Jesus. Another view to it is that, the Holy Spirit is the security of our inheritance. That's why He will never give up on us, He will never let you go and He will never let you out. Friends! We have been blessed with the wonderful Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done, and we need to daily celebrate Him. Moreover, if your only aim is just to make heaven, and you neglect what we have been given, to live a life of victory here on earth, though you might make heaven if your faith is in Christ, but you will never enjoy this glorious inheritance we have in Christ here on Earth.

1 Peter 1:3-4
You need to understand that nothing can defile your inheritance. It has been sealed with the eternal Spirit of God. This is our real identity. Therefore, when you walk in this consciousness, you'll walk boldly with all confidence in Christ. You won't get frustrated by what is happening to you directly or indirectly, even though they may touch your body, or disturb your emotion, but you'll be assured that your inheritance is safe. The life of Christ is your inheritance. You already have it in your spirit man and then your body and soul can enjoy a foretaste of it as you put your Faith in Christ.
