The Victor’s Mentality 29 (Walking in the Peace of the Gospel)

My beloved readers, you’re welcome to today’s article. In the article, I started sharing about the shoes of the gospel of peace, part of the armor God expects us to put on to keep winning and reigning in life. We saw what the shoes do for us by looking at what they did for the Roman soldier, including stability, firm mobility, protection, among others.

We also saw that the gospel of peace we put on as a shoe is a heavenly peace which is Peace with God, Peace in Christ’s body, and The peace of God that rules and steadies our hearts.

In this article, I’ll continue introducing this topic: the shoes of the gospel of peace. “And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” (Ephesians 6:15 NKJV)

When we look at the location of this armor—the gospel of peace, we’ll see it’s worn on the feet. And of course, the feet are primarily for mobility. What does that tell us? It means the peace of God should affect your walk.

Paul is saying that if you stand in the liberty Christ has provided, then in your walk; every movement of life, every engagement—let it be governed by the peace of God. With every step you take, consciously carry this peace. When situations and challenges arise, face them not in restlessness but in the calm that says, “If heaven is at rest concerning me, then I too will be at rest.”

One main reason people lack peace in this generation is that many are struggling for identification and approval from others, which leads to restlessness and unrest. But if you’re wearing the shoes of the gospel of peace, you won’t need to fight for identification, validation, or belonging because you are deeply aware that you’re already part of God’s family. That ends striving! Your daily walk becomes one of stability where each step demonstrates that your footing is in God’s peace, not the chaos around you.

Looking at the text again, the Bible says “the preparation of the gospel of peace.” Preparation here means readiness, not frantic, but that you are settled. It means you’re always equipped, not because of self-confidence, but because you stand on the unshakable ground of reconciliation with God. The gospel of peace is the reality that God is at peace with you through Christ. Therefore, you must carry this peace wherever you walk.

The devil is throwing a lot at us in these end times. Insecurity is a global issue, among many things that can cause your heart to panic. That’s why we must always put on these shoes and respond to situations with the peace of God.

Beloved, prayerfully meditate on these things.
