Fruit of the Spirit 24 (Love bears all things 3)

Fruit of the Spirit (Love bears all things 3)

By Peter Ayoola Fakeye (PAF)

In this article, I will conclude the discussion, 'Love bears all things.’ To check our other article on this topic, kindly click link 1 and link 2 and be blessed.

"Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1 Corinthians 13:7 NKJV)

I had said what it means to bear all things (you can check the previous article). I shared that to bear all things, we must have a great room large enough to store up the Love of Christ in our hearts. Such that whatever injury or prejudice or insult and assault that our heart encounters, the Love of Christ will repel them without us losing faith or going to Adam's way.

Adam's way is the way of self, fighting for oneself, thinking selfishly, and being the judge and Lord of oneself. You need to know that God created you, and He is the one who knows what will fit you- His Love. Ephesians 3:17-19 tells us about the generosity of the Love of Christ. That is why we must always create space for His love to fill us over and over again. No matter the level we are in manifesting Christ's love, there is still much more.

We must readily give up on self, hate, tribalism, hypocrisy, and many of those things that choke up our hearts. And we must readily put on the Lord Jesus (Romans 13:4). Always see His love for you- by coming to this sinful world and taking the rugged cross. When you always consider wholesome truth, you don't need much explanation to live a Christian life. Just prayerfully, meditatively, and intentionally consider how Jesus came to the earth and died on the cross for your justification and redemption. Just take some minutes every day to ponder and think over it. You cannot remain the same.
Beloved, let the love of Christ mix with your conscience. Absorb it. Digest it. Permit it. Reject those evil suggestions from friends to keep malice, to do an eye for an eye. Don't give your flesh what He wants. Let Jesus' love lead, and it shall be well with you in Jesus' name. Amen.

From the bible reference, 1 Corinthians 13:7 "Love bears all things." Another word to bear in Greek means to conceal and protect something.

Join me to consider our Lord Jesus and how He expresses this love. Yes! He is love. But then He manifested it for us to see that you also can walk in this Love.

Take, for example, the woman caught in adultery in John chapter 8. The Pharisees brought the lady to Jesus; they expected that He would sanction her death. Of course, the woman had wronged the God incarnate, Jesus, by using her body for immorality instead of keeping it sanctified and Holy for the glory of God. It is like you gave someone your resources, and he squanders them, but see what Jesus did to her; He lifted her. That is what it means to bear someone's fault. Many usually think that the best way to reprove someone is to keep hammering on that mistake of someone already condemned, injured, and down. The sincere question is, have you ever been motivated when someone reminds you of your mistakes and flaws? How excited would you be?

When someone does something wrong directly against you or not against you, such a person might be experiencing condemnation already. I don't believe anyone does not know when He has offended another. You may use "boldface" or try to deny it. The offender usually knows when He is wrong, but because of the wickedness of man, he would want to drag you into the same wickedness- malice, hate, and resentment.

The Pharisees wanted to drag Jesus into resentment. However, Jesus, the King of Love, would always walk in Love. He always seeks to lift others from their state and place them where they can receive rest. He did that for you; won't you walk in this same love?

We need to have a large heart to harbor Christ's love, such that when people do something against us, we don't think of ourselves first. If Christ had thought of himself, first of all, we would still be in our sin. Acting Christ's way is not stupid. Indeed, it is the very wisdom of God. It may initially look to us as though we are being foolish. No, you are not. It seems like that because our heart has deviated far from Agape love. But as we insist on this path, you will see how blessed and refreshing it is to walk the path of love.

Can we also start this journey of Love?
Beloved, prayerfully meditate on these things!
