Fruit of the Spirit 22 (Love bears all things)
Today, we'll look at this aspect of love, "Love bears all things." TPT translates it as "Love being a place of shelter," while another version translates it as "Love protects." In simpler terms, love accommodates insults, injuries, prejudice, and differences without acting ill-mannerly or in disgust, or with annoyance.
Another way to see it is that love puts up with everything and remains unchanged in the process. It is not embittered or corrupted in these processes. So, love bearing with everything is a testament to the magnitude to which our hearts have received God's love. We would be corrupted, defiled, and would even sin and err if injury, insult, prejudice, and the like do not encounter love in our hearts. So, of course, we are not talking about the love the world preaches or any natural form of it. We are talking about love that is only divine.
Ephesians 3:17-19
Let me first say this: God is love! His love is the origin of His counsel and deed. Therefore, he who dwells and is rooted in divine love extracts from Him the juices of eternal life. So, if you are a Christian, you have God's love in His infinite measure and fullness. But we must stay where He is, namely, in His love, to be able to receive an understanding of how to enjoy the blessedness of His love. This is why the Bible is talking about being rooted in His love by faith. Then you can begin to talk about comprehending His love. That is, you must come to believe, accept, and acknowledge that He loves you. You must go in confidence and assurance that He loves you.

Psalm 34 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” It is when you receive the food into your mouth that the consciousness of how it tastes gets to you. So, as you hear of Jesus' love, the one He manifested on the cross on Calvary, you just need to receive it and accept that it is for you. Because if you don't receive God's love into your heart, there is no way you can savor His taste. So, every day we need to remind ourselves of the love of Christ. This is how we can comprehend and understand His love. Being rooted in divine love is the parent of deep spiritual knowledge.
Now, when we consider this text again, He says we can only comprehend the extent of Christ's love after we have been rooted in His love by faith. You can only savor the beauty of His love and enjoy the riches of it and the blessedness if you have come in confidence that HE LOVES US.
No matter what is happening around you, don't let the devil deceive you that you are not loved. You need to accept it by faith. That is, beyond intellectual capacity and human understanding. GOD LOVES YOU.
But there is something Paul said when he was starting verse 18. He says, “that we may be able to comprehend with all the saints.” No matter how deep, high, or broad you are, I want you to know that our knowledge of Christ's love, though real, is incomplete. Anyways, it must always be. But the Holy Spirit is ever available to flow His love into our hearts. The flow is endless, and the fountain is infinite.
Paul says to comprehend with all the saints. This tells you that you cannot grow in understanding the love of Christ in isolation. Check out those people who isolate themselves; they don't join up in fellowship, and they are so mean. Beloved, we need one another in the process of our understanding of God’s love.
Many of us don't have believers as friends. The people we confide in, and we take our matters and discussions to are those that have not received the love of Christ. Those that will give you ideas and concepts from the fountain of the world. Those that will heap up your ego, expose you to lust and wickedness.
We cannot grow in love like this. Many people are not answerable to anyone. You have made yourself uncorrectable. You don't have a spiritual head over you. You just want to be alone. This is not to condemn anyone, but I believe the Holy Spirit is sharing this in love so that we can grow in His love and make cross-corrections. You need to start linking up with people so that you can see that they are really walking in love. They are growing every day. These are people that should be your close friends.
