THE VICTOR'S MENTALITY 5 [Your source of Power 2]
In the last article, I began discussing the first part of the mentality we need to have: Our source of power/strength and the kind of strength we possess.
I established that God is the source of our physical strength, mental fortitude, and spiritual power. We need to understand that God is interested in our entire well-being, not just our spiritual life. Yes! You can draw strength from the Lord for your daily tasks. God desires to supply you with strength in your mind, which serves as fortitude to keep you steadfast.
When we examine Adam, we see that he named millions of species of animals without stress, He displayed remarkable emotional intelligence. Yet, we often become easily exhausted after accomplishing little, give up quickly, and struggle under tedious circumstances. Sometimes, our minds become cluttered, which leads to headaches and heartaches. But let me tell you this: God supplies strength to endure daily challenges while remaining emotionally and mentally balanced. He is the creator of the brain and the mind, and He knows exactly what is needed to restore you when you feel down or overwhelmed.
We also saw that Adam's intelligence was excellent—he named all the animals correctly. So, who told you that you cannot achieve excellence? Who is measuring your IQ, and by what standard? For me, as He is, so am I in this world—including my intelligence.
- As I read, I understand.
- As I work, I make progress.
- My brain cannot fail.
- My mind cannot be perplexed.
- I am strengthened by the supernatural power of God.
In the previous article, we briefly discussed Paul's assertion in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, where he said he glories in his weakness because it is in his weakness that he experiences the power of God. Before God is fully revealed to you, you must first let go of self-sufficiency, self-confidence, self-defense, and reliance on anything apart from Him.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty." —1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)
No one is strong enough in themselves to fulfill God’s purpose. One way to determine if a project is from God is this: It will require you to wake up at different times to gather strength from Him. If your dream has never pushed you to seek God’s strength through prayer, fellowship, and His Word, perhaps it is only your dream, not God's.
Moses as an Example
Exodus 4:10:
"O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."
"O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."
Acts 7:22:
"And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and deeds."
"And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and deeds."
At first glance, these passages may seem contradictory, but Scripture does not contradict itself; rather, it provides balance and context. What happened was that when Moses saw the enormity of God's assignment for him, he realized that all his training and education in Egypt were not enough. Before God's agenda, Moses became a stammerer!
This reveals a crucial truth: God will ensure that you see yourself as weak so that you can fully depend on Him. If you rely on your own strength and wisdom, you will struggle to follow God’s plan because it may seem foolish to you. "The way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps." —Jeremiah 10:23 (NKJV)
Paul understood this deeply. Whenever he felt weak, he rejoiced, knowing that God was about to manifest His power. If you ever feel like, “I can’t do this on my own,” don't let the devil use that feeling to discourage you. No one is naturally “cut out” for God's assignments. Instead of backing out, recognize that God is calling you to seek His strength.
- Don’t quit that project!
- Don’t drop out of that school!
- Don’t give up!
When Moses doubted himself, God reminded him of His power: "So the Lord said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.'" —Exodus 4:11-12.
Perhaps your feelings of inadequacy are actually God’s way of reminding you who He is. He is the One who equips you for every task. So step out in His strength and fulfill your calling!
God bless you. See you in the next article.
