The Fruit of the Spirit 2 (What you need to know about it 2)

Ayoola Fakeye

In the previous article, I shared that the flesh can never produce anything godly. At the core of the flesh is evil. Therefore, You cannot produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit by the flesh.

In this article, I will love to continue sharing that the flesh cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit. This foundational knowledge will help you to live a victorious life over sin.

Whenever we attempt to produce what can only be obtained by the Spirit, we get weakened in our Christian pilgrimage. We will also set up our conscience to judge and condemn you. The conscience is part of our being, that has an innate understanding of right and wrong or good and evil. Therefore, whenever we attempt to produce any of the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit by our flesh, our conscience will always inflict guilt, pain, and some emotional damage because we will never meet the standard. Thus, The flesh hinders the outpouring of the anointing from the Fruit of the Spirit.

Even though you are born again, your flesh is still present. That was why the Apostle Paul said, “reckoned yourself indeed dead to sin.” See Romans 6:10-11

We know that when Jesus was on earth, even though sin surrounded him, He didn't sin, He didn't know sin, and sin was not in Him. However, on the cross, He was made our sin offering. In those three darkest hours, Jesus became our sustitute; our Pascal Lamb. That’s exactly what Romans 6:9 says about Jesus dying regarding our sins.

Verse 10 of Romans 6 says, “likewise”, that is the same way we see and believe that Jesus became our sin offering and died our death which automatically destroyed the carnal man—the devil, so also must we reckon ourselves dead to sin? The reason we don't see our flesh dead is that we have not gotten an adequate revelation of the fact that Jesus has already dealt with the devil, the Old man.

The flesh (self) is the instrument and servant through which the devil performs his operations. Though still present with us, however, an understanding that Jesus had crucified the man of sin seizes the flesh of its influence in our lives. Instead, it would submit to the new ruler, the Holy Spirit. The main problem is that many believers have not submitted to the Holy Spirit. We are still battling with the flesh. For instance, we try to upgrade it with fasting and prayer or to inform it with steps and principles. No! What you need is to reckon the flesh dead. The Bible didn't say we are dying, but that you are dead already. It has happened! That is the revelation require and not some steps or principles.

Beloved, You need to start denying your flesh of its influence. That will only be done as you recognize that Jesus has crucified the old man. If you will be able to receive from the Holy Spirit his fruit, then the flesh will not have to come between. Else it will hinder the flow of the anointing that comes from the fruit of the Spirit
