Hebrew 11:11
From our text, we will see that the bible gives us the reason Sarah could engage her faith in God. The bible says "because he judged him faithful who has promised." I have always said that faith is not illogical! Christian Faith is not just a figment of imagination. It is just that the Christian faith won't make sense if our considerations and line of thoughts are only sensual. But if we can start seeing with the eye of God, we will be propelled to launch out in faith. There is always a reason behind every faith move and it is based on what you’ve considered about God.
We will always act foolishly when our consideration is only sensual. Do you know it is unwise to leave God behind your program and begin to walk the journey of life all by yourself? It is actually foolishness when we think of leaving behind God who knows the beginning and the end of a matter; the one who does not live in time and the one that created all things! Also when we consider the man Jesus, you will agree with me that it is foolishness to ignore Christ and what He has done for us. This same man while He was on the earth, walks on water; fed five thousand with the loaves of five bread and two fishes and 12 baskets were left; and He overcame every challenge that man can experienced. Now because of His death on the cross, He can now achieve these same things in us and through us, yet we ignore Him and try to be the solver of our problems and the god of our little life. This same Jesus went to the cross and paid the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf and made the same ‘God type of life’ which He lived while on earth available to us based on His mercy and grace. Friends! it is illogical for us not to consider the finished work of Christ.
The bible makes us understand that Sarah judged God who (had promised her a Son) faithful. I want to announce to us about the faithfulness of our God and His holiness, such that God has never done us wrong. Even though at some point, we have put ourselves in some ugly positions by our decisions and choices, and have done much evil to ourselves, yet God remain faithful to us. This was the same thing Sarah consider-the faithfulness of God; Sarah saw God coming through in her weakness. I don't really know what Sarah must have been thinking, but I can presume that she must be thinking some of these things; how she led Abraham into Adultery against God's counsel; how she and her husband, Abraham teamed up to deceive Abimelech; how she dealt harshly with Hagar and her son and many other things she has done wrong. In spite of all these things she has done, she still saw God coming through for her; she saw that God never repented of His promise of him giving her a Son.
I believe these are things she had looked at, and seeing that despite her flaws and mistakes, God still came through to her. Who won't launch out in faith and pour himself over to God when we consider God’s faithfulness? Many times, we get choked up with our mistakes, and this has dim our eyes from seeing God who is always there even when we are nowhere to be found. We need to start opening ourselves up and begin to recount God's faithfulness-how He has really come through for us especially in our weakest state. This will open us up and impact faith in us to receive strength for the journey.
Friends, God is really interested in You! I understand that you feel you have failed God. But don't you think it is illogical to remain where you are when the person whom you failed is already at your aid? It is illogical not to put faith in God.
