GRACE ABOUNDS ONLINE BIBLE STUDY
THEME: FAITH LIFE OF CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS (Part 14)
TOPIC: FAITH PLEASES GOD
SPEAKER: Peter Ayoola Fakeye (PAF)
The Bible says, "Enoch received a testimony that God was pleased with him." I want you to know that God does not leave you in the dark about how He feels about you.
The Holy Spirit expresses our acceptance and adoption into God's kingdom boldly in our spirit man, and He engages our mind and Consciousness with it. The bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Therefore, the Holy Spirit transmits to our mind, how God feels about us when we yield to Him. The reason you feel God is displeased with you is because you have not been fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit in our spirit man. Rather, We have been out into complaining, grumbling and lamenting over the issues of life.
Enoch was not occupied or distracted by the affairs of this world or by all the things happening around him, as the Bible has made us know in Genesis, that he walked with God, which means he was concious of God's presence. The reason the devil gets at us, and try to condemn us is because we have not been fellowshipping with the picture the Holy Spirit is bringing to us. He brings a picture of Christ to our mind and Consciousness, telling us that as He is, so are we in this world (1 Corinthians 1:17). The Holy Spirit has brought the life of the resurrected Christ into our spirit man, showing us that this is our reality. Brethren, so let us learn to fellowship and relate with this reality.
The Bible recorded that Enoch pleased God. So, was it because of what He has done. No! It was by Faith. When we operate with faith in Christ and what He has done, we get to please God. What pleases God is not what you do for Him, but it is how much you believe in what He has done for you. If we can please God or get God's acceptance by what we do, then it would have been unnecessary for Christ to come in the flesh. Therefore, God is pleased when we put faith in the person of Christ and what He has done. It is how much we are concious and in tune with Him and what He's done for you that pleases God. How do you think a father will feel when He has brought everything you need for your present and future at his own expense? And instead of appreciating it, you then discard or ignore it. How do you think your earthly father would feel? Brethren! God is displeased when we neglect His provision and engage our self effort (work of our labour).
As we have discussed in our last discussion that Prayer is not what pleases God, neither is it our fasting, or our services we render to God. Is prayer and consecration not important? It is. But if the intention of your prayer and consecration is to manipulate God into moving on your behalf, then you are a joker, and this is the theory of legalism. You must know that God has already moved on your behalf. God said because of the sacrifice of His Son, He is pleased with you. Why can't you appreciate Him and begin to fellowship with this in prayer and in your consecration, instead of neglecting God's provision, and get into consecration to make Him do what he has already done. We must know that we are what we are by God's grace (1 Corinthians 15:10).
I believe the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart up as you are reading through this article. He is telling you to relax; you have a father that is pleased with you. Your work or service to God should be borne out of the relationship you have with God, and not rendered so as for God to be please with you. Am I saying that, you won't work or get into service and consecration? No! But your motivation must not be from a legalistic stand point, because when you're into legalism, you will have to be motivating yourself. This is the reason many people feel dry, and they don't enjoy peace and Joy, even after they have prayed for hours. They still feel as though God is against them. But when you are operating with faith in what Jesus has done, the Holy Spirit motivates you to work and serve God appropriately. The service will then be borne out of the relationship you have with Christ.
There is no way we are operating with faith in Christ and what He has done, that we won't be engaged in the positive direction, so that we can be effective for Christ in our generation
