Faith Life 6 (FAITH BUILDS CONVICTION)

THEME: FAITH LIFE OF CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS (Part 6)
TOPIC: FAITH BUILDS CONVICTION
SPEAKER: Peter Ayoola Fakeye (PAF)

You can pay for a good in a store, and it's possible for one reason or the other, you don't need the good at the present time. Then the store will give you a receipt lll is a l of evidence, that you have already paid for that good but you have not yet collected it. Therefore, anytime you want to collect it, you can't be deny under normal circumstances as long as you take the receipt (evidence) along.

The point I want to drive out from the illustration above is that, Faith is the receipt that the Holy Spirit has given to us to be able  to collect the finished work Christ has stored up for us. Faith is the receipt of whatever Christ has paid for. Whenever you have faith with you, you can be so assured that you lack nothing (2 Peter 1:5-8). The reason we see ourselves as  a random person is because we probably have not been engaging Faith. Many Christians have forgotten what God has placed inside them, and this is the reason many believers struggle in life.

When Christ paid for everything we need for life and godliness, He gave us His Faith to be able to make claim and demand of what He has paid for. Brethren! The problem has never been God because He has been justified by satisfying us with what we need (Galatians 3:22-26).

What then is the problem? (Hebrew 11:1)
One of the Greek meaning of the word "Evidence" in scripture above is conviction.

What's conviction?
Conviction is a strong persuasion or belief about something. Now relating it to christian believers, conviction has to do with strong persuasion or belief system that has been built around the life of Christ we have received. The problem is actually our convictions; how our mind is fully equipped and able to conceived what we have believed in Christ. Although, as Christian believers, we have the same faith; the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, But we have different conviction which is why we have different results. We need to trust the Holy Spirit to build in us strong convictions.

When we engage Faith, the Holy Spirit builds Conviction in us. It doesn't just happen automatically and we don't hit the peak at once, it is a process under grace. Faith builds our conviction, in such a way that we are sure of what we already have in Christ Jesus. When someone is fully convinced, there is nothing else you want to tell him that will make him change his mind or act otherwise than what he has already believed in.

Let's look at an example in the scripture, so that we can see how faith builds our conviction

The above scripture is talking about Abraham, how he was not weak in Faith. The Bible says, "he didn't consider his body already dead." You'll agreed with me that the physical reality of Abraham was that his reproductive system was already dead, but he was not just considering it. Brethren! you are not what the physical circumstances are saying about you, but you are what God has said concerning you and keeps reminding you through His word by the Spirit.

If it had been logical reasoning people, They won't even meet with their wife again, because they will feel like what is the point of meeting when my sexual organ is dead already. But No! Abraham will still get to meet with His wife, being fully convinced of what God has said concerning him. If you are living under depression, worry, anxiety as a result of things you see around, then you've not been engaging Faith.

I have heard people say, "it's normal to express worry when we look at things all around." They can actually be correct depending on where their focus is. The self induced reaction to challenges and terrible circumstances is worry and fear, when you only choose to focus on the physical circumstances surrounding you. But if in the midst of those different situations we find ourselves, we start engaging faith, until a strong conviction is built, then you won't get disturbed or depressed. Your head will always be up and high, and you will no longer see yourself as the dust of the earth, but you'll be seeing yourself as God is seeing you.

SEEING IS NOT BELIEVING, BUT BELIEVING IS SEEING
